The Metropolitan Regional Goverment of Santiago is the body in charge of the higher administration for the area which encompasses the largest metropolitan region in Chile. The Government is responsible for ensuring the harmonious and equitable development of the territory, promoting its economic, social and cultural development, taking into account the preservation and improvement of the environment and the participation of the community.
