About


The Universidad Tecnológica Metroplitana (UTEM), is an acreddited higher education institutional in Chile. Founded in 1993, UTEM is a member of the Council of Chancellors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) and the Consortium of Universities of the State of Chile (CUECH), both prestigious entities that form the country’s traditional and public higher education institutions.


The university offers a total of 28 undergraduate degrees in the areas of Economics and Administration, Design and Architecture, Construction, and Science and Engineering.


There are three campuses located in the Santiago Metropolitan Region, spanning across more than 79.902 m2 of constructed space that is divided between classrooms, labs, libraries, food halls, and event salons. There are more than 8,900 students enrolled, with more than 6,000 receiving free education.


The institution’s highest authority, Chancellors Sra. Marisol Durán Santis, presides over the Superior Council, a college organism charged with directing the institution and which is composed of representatives belonging to academic, functionary, and student tiers, and three members who are elected by the President of the Republic of Chile.
