The Universidad del Rosario has high quality Institutional accreditation, granted by the Ministry of National Education and the National Accreditation Council. Likewise, since 2018 it has been institutionally accredited, for five years, by the European Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA). It is one of the best universities in Colombia and Latin America according to the QS Universities Rankings, which in its regional version of 2017 places it in position 46, and in the top 10 of institutions at the national level. In the most recent version of the QS Ranking by Subject, the Universidad del Rosario stands out in jurisprudence, medicine and administration disciplines that are located in the top five at the Colombian level.

Nowadays the institution is based on secular ideas and remains very influential in Colombian culture and public life. At least 28 of Colombia's Presidents have been students of this university. It has influenced and participated in very important transitional processes like the revolution for the independence from Spain and the drafting of the Political National Constitution of 1991.
