About


Carmel Polytechnic College is an Indian educational institution established in 1958 by Very Rev. Fr. Gilbert Palakunnel CMI, and is managed by CMI Fathers - a priestly order reputed for their contributions in the field of education and healthcare. The institution draws spiritual inspiration from St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Ever since its inception, the college has been striving for realizing the CMI Vision of Education, of achieving holistic excellence through the synergy of all factors.


The present chairman of the college is Fr. Mathew Arekalam CMI, and the present Principal is Fr. Kunjumon Job CMI. The college is recognized by the AICTE, aided by the state and central governments and the college offers 3 year diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical & Electronics Engineering in the Aided Scheme and Electronics, Computer and Automobile Engineering in the Self-financing Scheme with a total intake of 378 students per year.


Situated 8 KM south of Alappuzha town, Carmel occupies a unique position in the field of technical education in India. Its bottom up management approach encourages everybody in the campus to put their best foot forward always.
